Nothing is worse than waking up on a freezing winter morning and having to make the cold trek outside to start your car so that it’s nice and warm for your drive to work, or to drop the kids off at school. You and your family will enjoy the comfort of climbing into a toasty warm car and will get your day started off right!
With a remote start from Mobile One Auto Sound, experience the ultimate comfort and luxury of an amazing remote start system, installed by the top remote start and security system provider in the New Orleans metro area. If you’ve never owned a car with a remote start included, you might have some questions about exactly how it works. We’re here and happy to answer those questions for you!
How do remote starts work?
Remote starts work by enabling you to start your vehicle from a distance, or indoors, using a remote control, without using the key or pushing the ignition button to start the car! A remote start looks similar to a key fob, and we even offer versions that you can use directly from your smartphone!
Remote start systems are easy to use, and also are capable of turning off your car using the same remote, in case you decide you no longer need or want the car to be running. Once your car is started using the remote start, the parking lights will flash to confirm the signal was successful, and the vehicle will stay locked until you unlock it. It is important to know that you will still need to use your car key to drive the car.
What are the benefits of a remote start and why would I want to remote start my car?
Having a remote start on your car allows you to have the vehicle warmed up in cold weather OR cooled down in hot weather, before you even get in to drive. A remote start might seem like a luxury, but it’s almost a necessity in extreme climates. Getting into a car that is already acclimated to your temperature preference is convenient and safer for you and your passengers on days where the outdoor temperature can be extreme, especially if you have children, young babies, or elderly adults who will be riding with you.
Who wouldn’t want to watch the ice melt off their windshield from the comfort of inside, instead of having to spend your morning scraping ice? Have you or your children ever experienced the pain of sitting on a hot leather seat that’s been cooking in the sun for hours? Ouch! With the push of a button on your remote start, these problems can be a thing of the past!
We even offer remote start models that take comfort and convenience to the next level. How could it get better? This is how: temperature sensors that automatically start the car when the temperature falls to a set level, and the ability to start your car from anywhere in the world via your smartphone, with the Viper SmartStart. Imagine being able to start your cold car that’s been sitting in an airport parking lot as you deboard the plane, so it’s warm (or cool!) and ready to go when you get to the airport parking garage. Now that’s convenient!
What is the best aftermarket remote start?
At Mobile One Auto Sound we offer a range of great remote start options. We proudly carry Viper products. Viper is a world leader in automotive electronics, and the largest North America brand of remote start systems. Some of the selections we have in stock are:
Mesa 4405M 1-Way Remote Start

Can my car be easily stolen if I started it using a remote start?
No! Remote starts installed by Mobile One Auto Sound keep your vehicle securely locked while it’s in remote start mode. Your car will need the key to be in the ignition (or inside the vehicle, depending on your key type) in order for the car to actually be driven. If someone was to get inside the car while it was remote started and tried to drive it without the key, the car would just shut off.
Are aftermarket remote starters safe?
Yes! Aftermarket remote starts are safe when used properly. There are a few simple rules to follow to make sure you use your remote start correctly and safely.
Be sure NOT to leave your remote start fob in your pocket or other location where the button could be easily pushed by mistake.
Never remote-start your car in an enclosed, poorly ventilated area such as a garage. It’s dangerous to start your car in a garage because of the potential for carbon monoxide poisoning.
